My breeding tank is 2ft x 1ft x 1ft and divider at least half ft with a lot of hole that the female couldn't pass throught only baby will.I add the float plant on the other side for the babies not on the female side.
Q's,
It's this type of my breeding ground setup suited for guppy or any other type for guppy breeding solution?.Will like to heard from other member comment.Thanks. |

That is a setup I have not seen before, but it sounds like it could work fairly well. It would certainly provide safety for the newborn fry. I personally allow my female to have drops in their normal tanks which have lots of fake plants for fry to hide in. I then catch the fry and place them in small fry tanks. |

Bought a breeding tank from Taiwan, very simple design but guanrantee safe the fries after the female spawn. It is a two level compartment equip with air filter system, size is bigger than others which you can get in fish shop in Malaysia. Fries will drop to bottom level separate from the female just upon they are born. |

Try not to get the standard breeding trap from the LFS. The gaps are usually so small that some frys get stuck and die.
In Singapore, I saw many breeders floating plastic baskets with lots of large holes (what you wash your vegetables with!!!). The basket is large enough for the breeding pair to live permanently, and the frys just drop through the holes to the bottom of the tank!!! Some basket has up to 5 adults!!!
I tried this, but my fish looks unhappy (they did not smile). Also, I don't know how to feed them without the food dropping to the bottom!!!
If your adults are fed well, they tend to ignore the frys. So, all I do is to have lots of floating plants, and feed the tank well!!!! |
